Pathologist supporting environmental monitoring, ecotoxicology and diagnosis of infectious diseases. John’s skills contribute to environmental monitoring programmes using toxicopathic pathology and diagnosis of OIE listed aquatic animal diseases. He is the programme manager for the Marine Fish Diseases component of the Clean Seas Environmental Monitoring Programme (CSEMP). This programme monitors infectious disease, neoplastic and other toxicopathic lesions in relation to anthropogenic contaminants in the marine environment. His peripheral interests also expand to the development of a UK offshore aquaculture industry and was awarded a Winston Churchill Memorial Trust fellowship to investigate the design and implementation of the New Zealand aquaculture strategy.
