Md. Mehedi Alam Imram works as a research assistant in this project. The main focus of his works is collecting water, soil and various biological samples from Pangasius and Tilapia aquaculture ponds.

Mehedi Alam achieved the degree of Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fisheries and Master of Science (MS) in Fisheries Technology. The main interest of his MS research was on the understanding of public health and hygiene condition of retailers at fish markets in south-central Bangladesh. Mehedi Alam worked as a research fellow on an action research project funded by EU that developed an aquaculture technology known as Integrated Floating Cage Aquageoponics System (IFCAS) for producing fish and vegetables in floating system.

Later he worked on a Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute funded research project that assessed the impacts of water withdrawal dams on the Halda River ecology. Carrying out his MS research and working on research projects, Mehedi Alam gained experience in public health, aquaculture systems and analyzing water and soil-quality parameters in aquaculture ponds.
